"anger began to rise in me.: (p 112) This is personification because anger (an emotion) cant actualy rise.

"turning tricks was like a business arrangement for me." (p 125) Its a similie because its comparing being a prostitiute to havving a business arrangement.

[...] "butterflies in my stomach would sit still." (p.145) This is personifcation. It deals with butterflies in a stomach. Butterflies dont belong in your stomach.

In this section of the book cupcake is sent to live with her aunt in compton.h er cousin sly is in the crips game and as expected cup joins. Loving the perks of being the leaders cousin- she gets more drugs, booze and learns quickly. She learns about stealing doing tricks and when a homie dies how to move on. She struggles to keep her drinking and drugs in line and steals alot. She loves the power she has when holding agun. Or when threatening someone. Later after getting hurt in a gang fight cup is sent to the hospital where they give her the unfortunate news that shes going back to live with diane. grr. we thoight things were looking up! Cup and Sly are very upset. Throuhg the years of living togtehre they have become more than cousins.
